Online I saw a picture of a crochet blanket that was completely me so I had to make it. I found the pattern and other than changing a few colors, pretty much followed the directions. I loved the pattern so much that I finished the blanket faster than normal and soon had a blanket that I adore!
Now I am working on a smaller version of this blanket for my puppy. Call me crazy but my baby needs a baby blanket handmade by his mommy.
I've decided to have his blanket be a three by three square of this corner of my bigger blanket. Also since my baby is a boy I'll revert to the original colors of yellow and green instead of purple and pink.
He seems to enjoy my sleeping with my blanket so soon he will have one of his own!

I am making one for my friend's daughter this year and I don't have the pattern, so thought I'd have to try making it up as I went along. The pattern for this blanket was found in an old crochet magazine (Crochet! July 2011). I found it online somewhere, but I’m not sure if it’s still out there.
DeleteBut the pattern is fairly simple as far as I can remember:
-The squares are done as columns, switching colors along the way. Each column is about 25 sc wide and use a (sc, hdc, dc), skip 2 stitch.
-To make ears you start with 4 s, increasing by 2 each row until they have 10sc, stay that width until 10 total rows high. Then the rows are 8, 8, 6, 6, 4, 4, 4, 4. Then you crochet a border around the ear.
-The eyes are just circles.
-The nose is similar, but more of an oval.
-There are many bone patterns online so I would recommend finding one you like and using that cause I don't remember exactly how that was done.
You could look online and see if you can find that issue of the magazine, but I hope this helps!
